The pencil has been a classic icon ever since Faber Castell. Caran d’Ache has now truly refined this everyday writing instrument. They produced a collection of four beautiful pencils made from precious woods: Titanium Oak, Macassar Ebony, Lati Gray and American Walnut (all produced according to FCS standards). They are all pleasant and warm to touch. Also they feel heavier than standard pencils and therefore are well balanced when writing. Only a magic wand from Ollivanders could possibly be a better fit in the hand.
I love writing – in any form. Maybe like you, too, I still like hand writing with beautiful instruments, on precious paper, with an out-of-the-box ink. Only recently, I started my first job after having finished my education. A portion of my first salary is earmarked to buy myself a fountain pen. I’d like to search for the perfect piece. This blog will document this quest and all the extraordinary items of writing culture I come across during it.
